Ella Runciter built the firm’s placement practice.
She has been a partner since 1974. Since 2008 she has been in half-life at the Beloved Brethren Moratorium in Zürich, and she remains a partner of the firm.
She was teaching mathematics at a girls’ school in Providence, as Miss Ella Hartwell, when the firm was asked in 1968 why the school’s examination papers kept appearing, already answered, at a rival school across the river. Mr. Runciter measured both buildings. He found a precognitive on the rival school’s staff, and he found that the field stopped dead at the door of Miss Hartwell’s classroom. She was the strongest inertial he had ever measured. They were married the following year, and she joined the firm the same month.
Mr. Runciter and Miss Szabo had measured people. Mrs. Runciter began measuring rooms: she introduced the survey of a client’s premises before any placement, the four classes of field radius in 1972 and the placement manual of 1973.
She ran the practice for thirty-nine years and trained Leonard Teague, who runs it now. When she entered half-life in the spring of 2008, the firm’s articles were amended to provide that a partner in half-life keeps her partnership. Her readings have declined slowly since, as all readings do.
