Software
Runciter Associates Intranet Suite 2.0
Staff mail and a directory for organisations that would rather not hand their correspondence to a large company. Installed on your own systems, maintained by the firm and supported by telephone from New York.
- Release
- 2.0, build 4471
- Licensed since
- 2016
- Support
- +1 212 014 0171
- Motto
- Our protection is your protection.
The sign-in page
- The client’s own name and colours. The sign-in page is set in the client’s identity, not ours. Our name appears once, in small print, as the licence requires.
- Diagnostics at sign-in. If sign-in fails, the page shows the database’s own message, so a member of staff can read it to our support desk word for word.
- Password help by telephone. There is no reset link to intercept. Staff who have forgotten a password call our New York office during business hours.
- Acceptance-test provision. Every installation is tested on site by a Runciter Associates technician with a dedicated account, removed on request. See change requests.
What it does
Mail, a directory and a way in.
The Intranet Suite does a small number of things and does them on the client’s own premises. It is not a cloud service: your mail is on your server, maintained by our engineers, and no one else’s business depends on reading it.
- Inbox, Sent and Drafts for every member of staff, shared mailboxes for departments, and an address book that shows people outside the organisation by name only. Attachments are kept with the message and listed by file name and size.
- Directory
- One table of staff, with usernames, roles and the time each person last signed in. The table is delivered to the sign-in page as a single file, so signing in is quick even on a poor connection.
- Sign-in
- Username and password, checked against the directory in one query. Being signed in is remembered by the browser for the length of the visit, so the Suite needs no session store and survives a server restart without signing anyone out.
- Telephone support
- Passwords are kept exactly as each member of staff chose them, so that our support desk can confirm a caller’s password against the record instead of sending a link by email. Nothing is altered, scrambled or shortened.

Installation
Our engineers install the Suite on a server you provide or on your own hosting, import your staff list and set up an account for each person. Temporary passwords are sent by courier, in sealed envelopes, to arrive on a Friday; staff are asked to change theirs at their earliest convenience.
Before go-live, a Runciter Associates technician tests the installation in the field with a dedicated acceptance-test account. The account is documented on the sign-in page so that the client’s own staff can find it during testing, and is removed when the client raises a change request.
