The firm has published its Consumer Device Survey 2024, drawn from the inventories completed at the end of every technical sweep it carried out in 2023: 1,214 homes and offices, and 9,862 connected devices.

More than half of the devices had a microphone, a quarter of them undisclosed. Nearly one in five had begun to charge for a feature that was free when it was bought. Forty-one acted on decisions before their owners had made them, and nine of those have been referred to the Turing Registry.
